Such sad news to hear that BARBARA HALE passed  away on January 26, 2017 , aged 94.

Famous for her role of Della Street in PERRY MASON, Barbara’s film career lasted approximately ten years and included 6 years at RKO.

Barbara was married to Bill Williams from 1946 till his death in 1992.

There were 9 seasons of Perry Mason, from. 1957 to 1966. And the show became successful again in 1985, when Barbara and Raymond Burr reprised their roles for a series of TV movies, The Perry Mason Mysteries.

Two Barbara’s with Bill Williams in a TV movie THE MILLIONAIRE, in which Barbara played twins. Would love to see it.

I think I need to watch an episode of Perry Mason and be reminded of how much Barbara Hale will be missed.

  1. One of those I half thought would go on forever. She enjoyed a great long career with plenty of film work but will always be Della Street first and foremost in my mind.
    RIP, Ms Hale.

  2. Sad news, but she reached the grand old age of 94 . . . unlike John Hurt, who’s left us at 77.

I think Hale was underestimated as an actress because of the long role in Perry Mason, and yet, if you look at the strength of the main cast in that series, you realize just how good she was.
