  1. I get “The Chicago Narrow Margin” for the first puzzler too. For the second one — obviously a colloquialism — Collins gives “A Sharp Customer”; so far as I can work out (I’ve forgotten far too much of the little French I once had!), the literal translation is something like “a sly fly”, which’d make sense.
